Here is my interpretation of Beatrix Potter’s Tailor of Gloucester. His body is all needle felted, his hands and feet are clay. His whiskers are horse hair and I added a little clay pipe, which I made and permanently fixed into his mouth. His beady eyes are needle felted, with plastic centres, making them gleam as he peers over his wire spectacles. He is reading the newspaper, while sitting on a cotton bobbin. The whole compposition is 6 inches (15 cms) high and permanently attached to a log slice.
He is a sculpture to be looked at and enjoyed, he is not a toy. He will live happily in your home or your office, watching what goes on with his beady eyes and smiling secretly when nobody is looking ……..
He is a unique item and is now in his forever home. I can make a similar one but it will not be exactly the same as each one is individually crafted with love.
